What is Malware?

A malware is a malicious code that performs harmful actions on the computer system it affects, be it a laptop, a tablet or a mobile device. The most common way for malware to enter is through malicious email attachments, or through the Internet.

Among the objectives of malware is to generate money thanks to the information it steals from a computer system or through extortion with ransomware.

Being such a broad term, malware encompasses other malicious software such as Trojans, spyware, viruses or keyloggers.

Avoiding downloading software from unreliable sources, only using reliable applications, having updated software and having an antivirus are the basic recommendations to avoid malware.
